Computer Application ( Latihan 1)




1.      Apa itu komputer, dan jelaskan proses pengolahan data pada komputer!
Komputer adalah serangkaian ataupun sekelompok mesin elektronik yang terdiri dari ribuan bahkan jutaan komponen yang dapat saling berkerja sama, serta membentuk sebuah sistem kerja yang rapi dan teliti. Sistem ini kemudian dapat digunakan digunakan untuk melaksanakan serangkain pekerjaan secara otomatis, berdasar urutan instruksi ataupun program yang diberikan kepadanya.
Proses pengolahan data pada komputer:
a.       Perangkat Keras (Hardware)
Peralatan pisik dari komputer itu sendiri. Peralatan yang secara pisik dapat dilihat, dipegang, ataupun dipindahkan. Contoh : Monitor, CPU, Keyboard, dan lainnya.
b.      Perangkat Lunak (Software)
Suatu prosedur pengoperasian dari komputer itu sendiri ataupun pelbagai prosedur dalam hal pemrosesan data yang telah ditetapkan sebelumnya.
c.        Brainware
Orang-orang yang bekerja secara langsung dengan menggunakan komputer sebagai alat bantu, ataupun orang-orang yang tidak bekerja secara langsung menggunakan komputer, tetapi menerima hasil kerja dari komputer yang berbentuk laporan.

2.      Jelaskan perbedaan antara CU  dan ALU!
CU (Control Unit) adalah salah satu bagian dari CPU yang bertugas untuk memberikan arahan/kendali/kontrol terhadap operasi yang dilakukan dibagian ALU di dalam CPU tersebut. Sedangkakn ALU (Aritmetic and Logic Unit) merupakan bagian pengolahan bilangan biner dari sebuah prosesor.

3.      Jelaskan tiga macam memori yang dipergunakan di dalam sistem komputer!
a.       ROM (Read Only Memory) berfungsi untuk menyimpan program operasi komputer seperti program BIOS dan program booting.
b.      RAM (Random Access Memory) berfungsi untuk meyimpan program yang kita olah untuk sementara waktu.
c.       Cache Memory berfungsi untuk menyimpan sementara instruksi dan data yang diperlukan processor.
